Frequently Asked Questions

What types of birds will fit?

This model (CB40 / 15") is best suited for chickens, geese, turkeys, ducks and other birds. For smaller game birds and bantam chicks, we recommend using our shorter brooder (CB25 / 9.5").

Is the flooring interchangeable or adjustable?

No it is not. The jumbo quail flooring option is only available for breeding cages. The floor is specifically designed to prevent splayed leg in young chicks.

Do these come with dividable middle walls?

Unfortunately, no they do not. We also do not sell anything separately that can be used as a divider. Our brooders are fully open on the inside and dividers are not advised as the water source is located on one end of the cage and the chicks would not have a way to remove themselves from the heat.

What temperature should a chick brooder maintain?

The brooder should start at around 95F and be reduced by 5F each week until chicks are fully feathered.
