What type of birds work with this unit?

This unit is best suited for smaller gamebirds, such as quail, partridge and pheasants.

Is the flooring interchangeable or adjustable?

No it is not. The Jumbo Flooring Upgrade is only available for our Adult Breeding Cages. The floor is specifically made to avoid any leg issues with chicks.

Do the Brooders come with dividable middle walls?

No they do not. We also do not sell anything separately that can be used as a divider. Our brooders are fully open on the inside and dividers are not advised as the water source is located on one end of the cage and the chicks would not have a way to remove themselves from the heat.

Good for beginners like me

Bought this for six quail I was given a few weeks ago worked great for me. This brooder held temperature great and the water system is super easy to clean

Thank you for the review. Our products are good for beginners or seasoned breeders - The Hatching Time Team

Floor mat

Over all, this brooder is great. The only problem was the black mats when they first hatch. Poo piles up quickly and smells really bad. Baby quail are cute until you pick them up and they are covered in poo! It would be way better if you had room on the floor to put a layer of bedding in there. Once the mats come out, it's great. Before getting this brooder I had 5 chicks die because it got too hot for them, the temperature regulation is a literal life saver!

Thank you for the review, Madison. There are pros and cons to bedding material. Some customers use extra chick brooder matts for frequent changing, or thinner bedding material. Wonderful to hear t it is a literal life saver. The Hatching Time Team
