Hatching Time team showcasing innovative poultry equipment at an event display booth with incubators, brooders, and cages

About Hatching Time

Hatching Time is a one-stop shop for chicken supplies and at-home poultry raising equipment, built for everyone from first-time backyard chicken keepers to commercial breeders. We carry over 500 products, from egg incubators and chick brooders to chicken coops, chicken cages, quail cages, and poultry processing equipment, because raising chickens shouldn't mean piecing together gear from a dozen different sources.

What sets us apart is durability and design that holds up to daily use, whether that's a family with six backyard chickens or a hatchery running thousands of eggs a week. We test what we sell, we stand behind it with real support, and we keep improving our poultry supplies based on what our poultry keepers actually tell us they need.

Family-Founded Roots

Ask anyone on our team how Hatching Time got started, and you'll hear some version of the same story. Yagiz Aksu and Ryan Flanagan had a simple idea: bring innovative poultry equipment to the US market so backyard keepers and commercial farmers could get their hands on the same technology big operations overseas already had. Like most good startups, it began scrappier than it sounds. The first shipping container of product got dropped off in Ryan's parents' quiet suburban neighborhood, twenty-two pallets unloaded into every crevice of his childhood home.

That's where Sue and Neil Flanagan come in. They were founding members of Hatching Time back in 2018, helping run the early operation and handling everything from shipping to finances to customer support while Yagiz and Ryan worked out, product by product, how to grow the business and what backyard poultry keepers actually needed. A few years in, Sue and Neil retired, and Yagiz and Ryan faced the real decision: stay steady, or scale. They scaled.

Since then, Hatching Time has landed on the Inc. 5000 list three years running, once ranked the 2nd fastest-growing retailer in America, and grown into a trusted source for poultry farming equipment for more than 75,000 customers across North and South America. The company now ships from its own 28,000 sq ft distribution center and runs a 3,000 sq ft retail store in New Castle, Delaware, but the standard hasn't changed since day one: build equipment that holds up, and stand behind it.

Community and Education

Community and education aren't an add-on here, they're part of the job. Our Learning Center, blog, and social channels exist so poultry keepers can find real answers, not marketing copy, whether that's incubation troubleshooting, coop setup, chicken care, or general questions about raising chickens. We show up in person too, at poultry exhibition shows, homesteading events, and international conventions like IPPE, because the best product feedback comes from people actually raising birds.

Hatching Time has been serving hobby farmers, poultry keepers, and commercial farmers since 2018.
