Reviews
We have had this coop for several months now. It was easy to assemble and has sufficient space for our 5 large hens to roost at night. We put it on a raised platform to preserve run space and give our girls more shade in the summer. The coop has survived 60+mph wind gusts and has kept our hens dry during heavy rain. We haven't had any real winter weather yet, but are optimistic it will do fine. A final plus, it is super easy to clean and will probably last years beyond the cheap wood coops.
Love this coop, it’s favorite long lasting takes a beating still works, i have 2 I’ll probably order another soon

Just assembled this coop, super easy to put together! Following the instructions in the booklet as written will make the assembly go quickly. Once assembled the coop is sturdy and easily accessible. I would definitely recommend this item.
Thank yuou for the review - looking good! The Hatching Time Team

Great quality and easy to put together!!
This coop was put together pretty easily that's were this coop got the 2 stars. I do love the look of it but is a cheap plastic. I can only pray a bear or coyote doesn't rip it to pieces. In the description it implied that it would be good for predators and to keep our the cold. I am just gonna pray it does because this material does not feel strong or sturdy at all. The price is way to high for this chicken coop. I am disappointed
This coop is SUPER easy to assemble! To less than an hour, including the time laying out all the pieces to make sure they were all there.
The stands almost done, which adds significant weight and we'll get a couple of dog runs for the enclosure to protect them but give them lots of scratching ground. I can't wait to get my girls into their castle!
Good quality, a bit over priced
Don't miss out on this coop!! Your chickens will thank you!! We bought this coop 6 years ago and is still going strong. It's been thru cold snowy winters and hot steamy summers here in Central Pa. It keeps the chickens warm thru the winter, and doesn't get too hot for them in the summer( it is in the shade). It's sturdy and has kept our flock safe from predators all this time. It is super easy to keep clean, just dump the two trays regularly. Hubby and I were talking about how good it has lasted us, so I decided to come back and leave a review for it since we are still soo happy with it 6 years later!!!
I have had this coop for two years now and it is holding up fairly well. I live in Minnesota which has extreme weather changes from 95 degrees down to -15 degrees and the coop has held up to those nicely.
Pros:
- The layout of the coop is good with the nesting boxes, adjustable roosting bars and slide out litter panel/drawers
- Accessing eggs is easy
- Cleaning out the litter is slick and works well
- The plastic resin is easy to clean
- Durable so far
Cons:
- Product descriptions says 4-6 large birds and 6-12 bantams. I have 4 large birds and it is JUST big enough for them.
- When in extreme heat if the coop isn't perfectly level it will start to warp ever so slightly which made the litter access panel underneath stick slightly. I have since better leveled the coop and it seems to have corrected itself. The roof has also sagged due to the heat, but appears to be only an aesthetic issue.
- If you want to install an automatic door there is only one expensive option available on the market.
My 4 hens have a bit of a pecking order and the size of the coop not quite being ideal for that number of chickens has resulted in one bird being kicked off the roosting bar and she sleeps on the bottom of the coop.
Amazon delivered the package to the wrong address but at least my neighbors were kind enough to let me know. The coop is great but came with a damaged part. The seller was notified and instantly sent a replacement part. I would definitely buy from them again. And if the need arises, I would buy SnapLock products again.
I’m a 55 y.o. female, with absolutely no mechanical inclination whatsoever, and I put this together, by myself, in 1 hour. Very simple and easy. It’s seems secure, especially with the carabiners, and is also cute!!! However, it will probably only hold 6 big chickens, so it’s a little bit smaller than I had hoped. I have Plymouth Barred Rock mixes. Some in the pictures are juveniles.
I’ve had this since August and it is holding up well. A little bit of warping but not too bad, especially for the weather we have!
Very fast shipping! Put it together in about 20 minutes. My birds seem to love it. It’s easy to open the roof and gain access to the inside. Lots of space and very sturdy. I’m obsessed!!
I am a 68 years old widow and it tock me 2 h to assemble but 2 days to make a support base. I do not used it yet (I have to find a good place for it) but look sturdy and big.
It is not 5 stars because it is difficult for me to give 5 stars for anything I do not make myself. However, for plastic molded - it is sturdy and functional, except for the base - but it works. I put it up another 10 inches on concrete blocks and put a tarp over it as I live in southern Arizona, so it helps with the sun and the rain. Holds all 10 of my large hens, but try not to use it for more than that. Looking forward to a no-maintenance type hen house.
Nice coop for someone living in town
Cute hen house! Easy peasy put together! (69) F put together by myself. Simple instructions. Did in a couple hours. If I hat! I didn’t time myself but I more then 2 hours.
Excellent coop had this for almost a year! Easy to clean. Very solid. Easy to put together. Well worth the money. Best thing it’s made in the USA
It doesn't matter how hot (over 100*f) or how cold (-24*f) this coop has kept my chickens in safety and in temps that they can tolerate without ill effects. I've bought other plastic coops - they break, they weather...and I've had my birds have comb issues from the cold. The coop can fit 11 heirloom breeds at once, but ideally is more of a 6-9 sized unit. The plastic hasn't faded, it hasn't warped, and it remains the easiest of all my coops to clean. It is secure from predators, can be locked even further for additional safety, and I sleep easy knowing my girls are safe and sound. I haven't attempted to put an automatic door on my unit, so that might be the only downside, but frankly I am just the kind of crazy chicken lady who likes to make sure her girls go in at night and all are healthy in the morning. That you can also collect the eggs without disrupting anyone who is roosting (plus I've had birds decide to go broody in the middle of the worst part of the summer in a desert, and while they look miserable, this coop has kept them from harm). Such an A++ unit that the last time it went on sale I purchased a second to try building a chicken tractor with.
If you are looking for a coop, it's this one. I'll be your magic Amazon fairy and just tell you, it's worth the cost. Would you rather replace a coop ever 1-2 years because they break or warp, or just have one that stands the test of time? Exactly.
We used this for a few years before selling it with our house. Northern California valley, very Hot in summer. No problems. Our eight runner ducks lived in it. Laid plenty of eggs in it, so they must have liked it. Kept this inside a large wired run.
I just ordered another one for our new property.
Honestly you can buy a small shed for a cheaper price, outfit it with some nests and roosts, and house more chickens.
This coop is great, maintenance free, light weight, and easy assembly. We are thrilled as it’s a perfect size for our 6 hens & easy to clean. We suggest building a frame under it to firm up floor & lift it off the ground to ease cleaning, egg gathering, and allow storage underneath. We took 2 of the nesting boxes where we put a feeder in one box & water in the other attaching with outdoor Velcro. You won’t be disappointed!
I wanted a coop that I could move to different areas with my chain link fence panels so the chickens could eat the weeds and bugs around my apple trees and 1 acre hobby farm. This coop fit the bill! This was a breeze to assemble with 2 adults! It's quite a bit smaller than I imagined when I purchased it. I had 9 chickens in it over the winter and they did fine. I have six in it now. During the winter, I put feed inside in one of the nest boxes but I have since purchased a feeder that keeps the feed dry outside. The adjustable side vents keep the rain and wind out or allow ventilation depending on the position they are in. I love the easy access to the nesting boxes for gathering eggs! I wish the bottom "skirt" was sturdier. I put some cement blocks in each corner to help support it and that seemed to help. It's fairly easy to clean compared to a wooden coop. Just remove the bedding and hose down! There are 4 plastic "legs" per se that do fill with water from inside when you try to rinse it out. I am considering drilling a small pencil size hole in them for drainage. Also, the carabiners that came with it are too thick around to fit in the metal holes of the locks and they are also cheap and break easily. That was easily fixed by a trip to the dollar store. Overall, I would buy this coop again but don't think I'll need to for quite awhile unless I double my flock. I felt it was a bit pricey for the size, but I'm so in love with its features that I would happily purchase it again!
So far so good easy to put together
Sturdy, easy to clean and happy chickens.
So the base is more of an “apron” with no support. It needs to have a frame under it that supports the walls of the coop not the middle or the base will “splay”. We retrofitted with a coiled auto door on the inside of the opening. I have a pic showing where the 2x4s need to be dropped to allow coop frame to sit properly.
Will update, but also have elsewhere. Tiny Raptors
Awesome easy coop, very pleased with this purchase, our birds love it
This seemed to be easy to keep clean and according to the description, it could handle my 4 hens. There is no room for them to perch. It is very small. I am returning as soon as the replacement gets here. Fine for 2 hens, but no more.
I was a little hesitant at the price, especially after trying two poor quality coop kits, but we were very happily surprised - very simple to assemble (instructions in legible English and clearly labeled pictures!), and the carabiner clips for each hasp were icing on the cake :) Easy to access from the top, door, nesting boxes, and litter trays make it easy to monitor, retrieve eggs, and - for the first time ever, I do not dread cleaning the coop. Well worth the cost; if we ever decide to keep more chickens, I would definitely buy another.
