Description

Buy a large chicken plucker machine for sale that defeathers 3–4 chickens fast and clean.

This rust-proof, wet plucking drum is built for backyard poultry keepers and small farms, using 125 natural rubber chicken plucking fingers inside a 21” food-grade plastic drum to remove feathers efficiently without tearing the skin.

The best part about the plastic food-grade drum and CMK2 100% natural rubber plucking fingers is that your birds will be defeathered in a clean environment, thus reducing any chance of damage or contamination.

There are no maintenance costs because the simple yet powerful patented motor design reduces internal friction, so it doesn’t need lubrication or expensive part replacements.

The design reduces breakage within and eliminates the need for regular part replacements, such as belts, gears, etc. Further, the simplicity of the design promotes cost savings by using 50% less electricity than many comparable units.

This feather chute makes cleanup easier after defeathering. To operate, use your hose to wash feathers through the feather chute. You may choose to add a bucket or use the unit over a drain to remove feathers from your work area.

Not sure if this is the right size? Explore our full lineup to find the best chicken plucker machine for your flock, from small backyard batches to larger poultry processing needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the feather pluckers come pre-assembled?

No, they do not. Some assembly is required but a manual is included!

Can I use my plucker for other types of poultry?

We recommend that you purchase the feather plucker for the type of bird you will be plucking the most. While you may be able to interchange which birds you will be plucking, you will not get the same results unless you purchased the plucker for that specific type of bird. You will also have to keep in mind the size of the bird as well.

Can a water hose be attached?

With our Regular-sized Pluckers, you will need a separate water hose to rinse out the drum as you pluck. However, with our X-Large Pluckers, there is a hose built in to the top portion of the drum. You can then attach your watering system to the plucker for hands-off plucking!

Works fairly well

This plucker works fairly well. I can never get it to plug more than two chickens at a time without damaging the skin, but it will pluck a single chicken in half a minute or less. I wish this company made electric or gas powered temperature controlled Blanchards for feather, removing I think that might make, the process of plucking a little bit easier I think plucking is all in the hot water dipping before hand but overall the unit is incredibly easy to operate. Just spray a hose and it while the chickens tumble around assembly was moderately tricky, but not too difficult. My biggest gripe is clean up afterwards feathers are between , the wheel inside that turns to move the chickens and the bottom and you really have to get your hand up in there and some bleach and really just make a good job of cleaning it. Otherwise it’s one of the better pluckers I’ve used.

Not the best

Honestly not impressed, after talking with the company and telling them that I do 50-75 broilers a year and a few turkeys it was recommended that I go with this plucker and to be honest it wouldn’t even handle an average sized Turkey and I think it works okay for chickens but I was only able to successfully do 2 five pound birds at a time, anymore than that and I’d be left with a bunch of hand plucking. I’m sure this would be fine for your average person doing a few birds a year but I just wasn’t impressed and I’m a little disappointed that I spent 879.99 when from what I hear some of the cheaper ones are better. Don’t always think more money gets you a better plucker

Nice customer service

When the plucker came, the barrel was broken, so we called them immediately, and they sent out a new barrel. If I put any more than 10 pounds of chicken in there, the plucker starts moving dramatically so be careful

Chicken Feather Plucker - Large

The Hatching Times plucker worked Fantastic, what a time safer it was. It plucked our large Murray Red Rangers 27 of them in about 30 seconds, wish I had gotten it sooner. It was easy to clean, hardly any feathers stuck to the drum. Highly useful plucker, don't hesitate to buy one.

Thank you for the review or our highly useful plucker, Dave - The Hatching Time Team

Plucker Review

We purchased the plucker (Large 3-4) before we were scheduled to process a couple dozen birds. We found that it did the job well, but it wasn't quite powerful enough to do 3 large birds at a time. Perhaps it could have, but it would have taken a long time. We found it worked much better with 2 birds (< 1 minute), but it was even better with 1 bird at a time. We occasionally had to flip the bird over because it wouldn't turn over on its own to get the back feathers off. It is quiet, which is good. Perhaps needs to be a little more powerful to live up to the 3-4 bird title. Plastic, transparent bowl is great. Easy to see if/where feathers are jamming the machine. No trouble at all with it. Will process more (~75) in a few months.

I was looking around on the web for a chicken plucker after checking out many models and reviews. I order a large plucker from Hatchingtime I like the fact the motor is enclosed and the switch is on the side for easy access. It arrived in 2 days the only issue I had was that the barrel was cracked it looked like the shipping company ran a forklift into the box. I contacted Hatchingtime sent the pictures of the box and the barrel and I had a new barrel in less than a week. I haven’t used it yet but I will fill you in when I use it.

Thank you for the review, Paul. Sometimes items do get damaged during shipping. When that happens we get the replacement part out as fast as we can - The Hatching Time Team

Chicken plucker

Like many folks I spent the summer looking for a chicken plucker and I'm grateful I found this one. Most manufacturers are sold out or extremely expensive. This one was available on preorder and it came 4 days earlier than expected but just in time to process my 40 broiler chickens. It assembled very easily and the weight of this unit seems just right. It's heavy enough it doesn't move around while plucking yet I can move it to the processing site with little effort. It plucked the bird in less than 20 seconds with a good scald and honestly left nothing to clean by hand. I was doing one bird at a time mostly but it had no problem with 2. The clean up was easy and I actually like the plastic construction. I've only done forty birds so far but have another 150 to do in about 4 weeks. I will post an update but I can't imagine this plucker not being up for the task. My box was ripped open in shipping and a couple of fingers were lost on delivery. One email to Hatching Time and my replacement fingers arrived in 3 days. Great customer service and I highly recommend giving them a try. I don't believe you will be disappointed. Mike Humphries from Western Ky.

Mike, thank you for the review. As you can see, this plucker does not disappoint. The durable food grade plastic drum and 100% natural rubber plucking fingers remove feathers efficiently every time!

We do apologize for the damages during transit and are happy that we were able to provide you with the parts in a quick and timely manner! Have a great day!

Chicken Plucker

We love it! After using a plucker that my father had purchased used 40 years ago, we finally decided to upgrade and oh, my goodness is it wonderful! We first did a trial run of 21 broilers, then processed 105 the next time and we were finished in record time. The birds came out amazingly! Definitely telling my friends about this machine. Great purchase!

Thank for you review! We agree that this unit is powerful, efficient and will get the job down quickly.
