Description

Power-washable & rust-proof stacking grow out pen is perfect for rearing teen quail, pheasants, partridge, or small game birds. For pullets (chickens), teen turkeys, ducklings, and goslings, view our taller 15" models. With 9.5" of headspace, this unit will ensure your birds grow up safely before joining the flock. To prevent bird wetting, closed nipple drinkers receive clean, algae-free water from the water tank above. The unit boasts lockable wheels and an improved door locking system to prevent escapees. To remove waste efficiently, there are deep manure trays. Red feed grill covers are included to eliminate the flinging of feed, thus saving money.

What type of birds work with this unit?

This model (9.5") is best suited for smaller gamebirds, such as quail, partridge and pheasants.

Are these types of cages similar to brooders?

Yes, they are! However, they are meant for juvenile birds and do not come with a heat source. These cages can be beneficial to help keep your younger and more mature birds separate as well as free up space in your brooder for incoming chicks!

Do the Grow Out Pens come with dividable middle walls?

No, they do not. We also do not sell anything separately that can be used as a divider. Our brooders are fully open on the inside and dividers are not advised as the water source is located on one end of the cage and the chicks would not have a way to remove themselves from the heat.

Grow out pen

Well built, assembly not too difficult. Very neat and compact. Doesn’t take up much room in garage!

I ordered these grow out pens to stack with my brooder. Assembly of these cages to me was actually kind of fun, reminds me of playing with legos or tinker toys with the quick east of assembly. I love how all you can mix and match with the brooder or breeder cages too... so customizable!

It's Okay...

I purchased this a few months ago and now I see some improvements! Looks much better than mine! I had to pay someone to put it together for me and he took 6 hours! My husband had to take it apart and do it again because it was so flimsy. A real pain to put together. The waterer leaks really bad! We used plumbers tape to at least slow the leak. The new water system looks easier to work with and clean, I hope! The flooring of the cages had to be zip tied to the sides because they fall apart with the weight of little Quail. I would zip tie the whole thing together for safety! For the price, meh...I did email the company about my complaints, no real help. I gave up.

The water system is gravity feed and uses nipple drinkers that push up to release water. Typically leaks are an easy fix or we replace the water pipe if it’s damaged or defecgtive. Usually just a photo is sufficient for us to tell what is going on. The floor, back wall, roof and front all snap together. Love these cage set-ups. I currently have 1 quail brooder, 2 of the 15” brooders and 7 of the quail layer cages but the one thing I would love to see on these grow out cages is the mesh sides and back like you get on the quail layer cages. Being in the south, these get too hot during the summer. I currently use some of the layer cages for some grow outs just for the extra ventilation.

Grow Out Pen

This grow out pen works great and is easy to clean highly recommend.

love the pens!

I have the 3 layer grow out pens as well as the 3 layer breeder pens. They both make raising quail so much easier and more efficient due to no feed loss and great watering systems. I added heater to 1 grow out pen making it a brooder as well. These are great pens and well worth the money!

2nd Brooder ordered

The brooder itself is great but how it's packed is an issues no padding. This is the second time if ordered a brooder and the second time pieces were broken and missing. No packing parts list. To me if it's all there.
The did replace missing and broken pieces both times but these boxes are heavy. They also never offer any discounts other than $10 if you review their products which is kind of a slap in the face with how much you spend.
Do not expect to be able to put this together and use it when it arrives you will most likely have to wait on parts
