Calling all chicken enthusiasts, backyard farmers, and bird hobbyists! Introducing our top-of-the-line Chicken Brooder, the perfect solution for raising your chicks, ducklings, goslings, and other baby birds. Our brooder is thoughtfully designed with durable PP Plastic (Polypropylene), offering a robust and stackable structure that doesn’t take up much space.

This Chicken Brooder comes with a self-regulated brooder heater, ensuring your little chicks stay warm and cozy. The heater is an upgrade from traditional brooder heat lamps, offering safer and more efficient heating. To monitor the temperature, we have included a brooder thermometer in the heater, so you can always make sure your chicks are comfortable.

Our Chicken Brooder box is designed with removable mats to prevent splay leg, a common issue with baby chicks. These mats can be easily removed and cleaned, ensuring a hygienic environment for your chicks.

The waste falls directly into the droppings tray below, making cleanup a breeze. Simply wash with soap and water for a clean brooding environment.

Whether you're running a large farm, a small homestead, or just raising chicks as a hobby, our Chicken Brooder is an essential tool. With features like a 20-inch self-regulated space heater instead of a brooder plate for chicks, our brooder kit offers everything you need to raise healthy chicks.

So whether you're looking for a chicken brooder, duck brooder, or all-bird brooder, our product fits the bill. It's more than just a chick brooder box or a chicken coop heater; it's a comprehensive solution for raising baby birds.

Remember, happy chicks make for happy chicken owners! Invest in our Chicken Brooder today and experience the joy of raising your own chicks with ease and confidence.

Capacity

Weekly capacity is determined by your birds’ breed, required heat each week, and your brooding room’s temperature. Rearing quail or smaller game birds, we suggest using our 9.5" models.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of birds work with this unit?

This unit is best suited for larger poultry, such as chicken, goose, turkey, duck.

Can quail be raised in this larger unit?

While it is recommended that quail be raised in the 9.5" unit, this may not be possible if you are raising larger birds, such as, chickens, geese, turkeys, or ducks. Some adjustments may need to be considered, but this 15" brooder will be able to comfortably house your quail chicks!

Do the Brooders come with dividable middle walls?

No they do not. We also do not sell anything separately that can be used as a divider. Our brooders are fully open on the inside and dividers are not advised as the water source is located on one end of the cage and the chicks would not have a way to remove themselves from the heat.

These are awesome self contained brooders, and include everything you'd need except chicks and food. I love em, they pay for themselves, if your birds are valuable or you value your time, these are the way to go 100%.

Love this suggestion

I love this brooder. Super easy to move and spray down with water hose. Doors come off easy for cleaning as do mats when in use. Tried water system and did not like taking apart to properly clean. I created my own and this might be good accessory for sale. Some sort of pop outs with adjustable side and back shelf so raise waters during growth. See what I did. I have to make my tower larger as they grow. They take to nipple quickly though I no longer use nipple waterers 100% outside. Mix of those and rent a coop cups. I also put puppy pads on litter tray easy clean up. This is the best brooder system yet.

Thank you for the review and suggestions, Tina - The Hatching Time Team

Kick **** brooder

I have been raising chicks for years in cow troughs for years then I thought I would give hatch time brooder a try and it is just amazing. It has cut my time way down and also cut the smell down. So easy to feed and clean with out any chicks getting away. Already planning on buying more

Thank you for the review, Hulk. We are so glad you decided to give our chick brooders a try - The Hatching Time Team

Haven’t cussed so much in years

It took hours and a whole lot of swearing to put this thing together. It’s not a complicated design, its all just plastic. Getting it to stay together while pounding other sides on just wants other parts to come apart. GRRRR. Not buying more. Now that’s together its working fine withe my jumbo Coturnix and less food wasted. We wont even talk about putting the watering cups on

Thank you for the review, Kenneth. Sorry it was frustrating, but glad it's working fine with your jumbo Coturnix. The cage looks nice - The hatching Time Team

Chick Brooder 15" Layer addition

We added the 15" brooder atop our three layers of 9.5" chick brooder unit. We are brooding chickens first so the quail layers are empty for now. It wasn't difficult to do as Hatching Time provides many instructional videos and Doreen S. in the support department, is a fountain of knowledge for any question a person might have. The cages are so sturdy and well constructed. We've never had a moment of buyers remorse. Also, Hatching Time 100 percent stands behind their products, and that is a great thing these days. I can't say enough good things about the company. The photo does not include the 5 gallon water unit which usually sits on top.

Liliana, thank you for leaving us such a wonderful review. We are thrilled that you loved your experience; our team will be happy to read what you wrote. We put customer experience and satisfaction as our top priority and your review reaffirms that hard work we put in every day. So thanks for your kind words

Great brooder

I have bought the 15in chicken brooder. I love it! Keeps heat in nicely. Love the attached feeder and doors that are adjustable to the chicks heads as chicks age. All around great product and if you ever have a issue their customer service is top now and quick turn around time.

Thank you for the review. We put customer experience and satisfaction as our top priority and your review reaffirms that hard work we put in every day. The Hatching Time Team

Watering system is horrible and these are not easy to put together

Very HONEST review - Husband can build house but a three tier took us about 3-4 hours to assemble. They really don't go together quickly. I couldn't imagine if the average layman or woman was trying to do this by themselves how long it would take. On another note, the watering system is horrible. Even had a relative that is a journeyman plumber come by to take a look. I wouldn't leave these 24 hours with confidence they wouldn't leak. The outside doors break easily, you have to be very careful, I think the plastic gets brittle after a time from the heating system. If you have a stackable or tiered option you are crawling on the floor to unscrew the lightbulb at night. There is NO way you can grow out anymore then about 5-6 large fowl chickens to 6 weeks without over crowding and pecking commencing. I like the idea of them being plastic and easy clean up as you move the little flocks from one tier to the other. We do use a thermometer to insure we have correct heating. All in all, they could use some work.
For the HT cabinet incubators I'd give it about a 4 star, like so many others, I don't like that little PEAK hole, to see how the chicks are fairing during hatch. Because of that, we remove the chicks and use other hatchers for lockdown so we have a clear view of how the eggs are progressing.

LOVE this brooder! Much easier than heating plate and bins. It is so easy to clean with the water hose and some dish soap. Will likely add another layer soon!

Has to be in inside.

I wanted to love this brooder so much that I bought the 9.5” and the 15”, but sadly I haven’t been able to use them. They have to be kept indoors with heat in the winter. If it gets below 65 degrees it doesn’t work. It actually flips the surge protector and turns off. My chicks would freeze. The brooder plates I have will work down to 50 degrees so I’ve taken them out again, with my Dale’s Quail brooder, because that was easier than bringing the two stack in myself. If it gets even colder I’ll pull out my heating lamp set up. What’s good? It was easy to put together myself. The YouTube videos on assembly were easy to follow. It looks super easy to clean. It is compact and very nice looking. I look forward in trying this in the spring and summer. My warranty will probably run out before I actually get to use it sadly. In the spring and summer I know I will love it and my ratings will go up but now, I can’t even use it.

Thank you for the review, Dawn. We do recommend locating the brooder indoors, with temperatures about 65 as the heaters are supplemental source of heat and they are not intended to be the sole source of heat. The heaters are covered by a 1-year manufacturer's limited warranty. The Hatching Time Team

Amazing Brooder

I've purchased several products from Hatching Time and I have been very happy with each one. Not only good products, but fast shipping and good customer service. I started out with the 9.5" brooder for my bantam chickens, and bought the 15" recently for my standard chickens since they need more head room sooner and I'm often hatching out both sizes simultaneously. Love the ability to stack the pens for space saving, the grid flooring keeps the chicks/pens clean, they are easy to clean, and clear doors make it easy to keep an eye on the babies. Well worth the investment!

Excellent product and fast shipping

Every product I've ordered has been exactly what I expected and has arrived earlier than what I would consider typical in online sellers.
Easy assembly and modular. I treat them a bit like a building block or erector set that actually does something useful. (I think the quail are happy as well)

Chick Brooder Addition

Like the brooder. Two issues one of the side panels doesn't line up in the middle so has a small gap and one of the doors had a crack. Ended up ordering 2 replacement doors and received 1 cracked and at the price to replace the doors could be expensive.

brooder

one of the side walls is completely warped and caving in. the customer service people are rude and condescending. I have cognitive disabilities and they showed a lack of consideration towards that after there was a mishap with my order. I'm waiting on a call from their manager.

Worth it!

I’ve been raising my own chicks for awhile. I’ve tried water troughs, cages, boxes, stainless steel tubs, you name it! Always nervous about using the heat lamps (even when they were zip tied or duct taped to not fall down). My Hatching Time brooder is awesome! I like that it’s worry free. The only complaint is that there’s no on/off light switch (which they’re working on).

I use paper towels or newspaper to line the bottom for the first few weeks to make clean up easier on the young chicks. Will be running chicks through this easy system all summer long!

Thank you for the review, Queen Bee. Glad you will be running chicks through this easy system all summer long - The Hatching Time Team

Update on swearing so much

One of my issues was breakage while assembling the cages. Hatching times saw the review and contacted me and immediately sent me a replacement. Going to take more time cleaning up the edges before assembling and hope that helps. My quail are doing fine in their new homes. Took no time getting comfortable in them. Now to assemble the rest of them and expand my operation, which is why i bought these coops

Thank you for your review, Ken. Glad you got the replacement parts - when you use a mallet - only hit on the reinforced thicker section of the side walls and not directly on the floors or roof pieces. If you have any issues please contact us at (800) 511-1369 Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm ET. - The Hatching Time Team

BEST Brooder Available!

I have now raised 2 different sets of chicks in this brooder layer and I couldn't be more thrilled! I had day-old baby chicks in here from when they arrived up until 5.5 weeks and all 13 have been absolutely thriving even though I've had them in an uninsulated workshop outside and we've hit below-freezing temps several times since they arrived! I just moved those chicks into the 15" grow-out pen layer yesterday, and then moved in 5 baby chicks who are about 1.5 weeks old. The transition went perfectly smooth and ALL my girls are SO HAPPY with this system! The built in heater, the AMAZING floor system where the droppings cleanly fall through, the waterers, adjustable doors, and incredible NO WASTE feeding system are just out of this world. They truly thought of EVERYTHING that is a pain point and annoyance when raising chicks in a brooder and eliminated all problems! Thank you so much Hatching Time for an incredible system!
