Quail Cage - 3 Layer

I bought the 3&5 layer brooders. No directions, but a few bad pictures. I did the code on the box with my cell and it opened to a lot of brooders that wasn’t mine. I’m so upset that I spent my money on this junk. I would NOT buy this again, and warn others to keep looking. Watch for shape edges. I cut my hand open, and the doors don’t close with these bad places.

My husband built our first quail coop. It served the purpose but we kept having to modify it to get eggs to roll down and a lot of feed was wasted from the birds throwing it everywhere. We came across Hatching Time quail cages, thought they were a little pricey but decided to try them anyway. It was worth the money. Egg collection and cleanup is faster and easier and hardly any feed is wasted anymore. We're buying another one.

Yall! This set up is a total game changer! No more quails being suicidal. Everything is easy to clean and maintain. The watering system is great. Easier to keep up with how many quail you have. Love the upgrades! The removable walls and the bigger pan. The waste doesn’t fall in the feeders no more. If you are thinking about getting this breeding system DO IT! This has really helped me cut down on death and cleanup.

So the design is very smart. I’ll give it that, but the watering system seems to be a big flop! The nipples inside the cage leaks water all the time I have to physically reach in and pull down the metal tab to get it to stop which is such a time waster. This set up was supposed to save me time on feeding, watering and collecting eggs and now I have to spend more time fiddling with all 9 nipples day in and day out. Do yourself a favor and buy a milk cow instead.

Easy access egg rollout and the new removable dividers make these a perfect option for those unable to build their own. Thanks HT

We are new to quail farming and found this product after much research of cages. We absolutely love it. We love how easily was to assemble and cleaning is a breeze with a pressure washer. The only complaint I have is the size of the trays. We purchased larger trays that extended past the egg roll-out and over the lower birds feed troughs. We found that some droppings were rolling out the egg roll-out and the larger trays solved the problem. We purchased 25”x36” auto drip trays. They don’t clean as easily, but no **** in the food!

The idea is great but nothing pops into place perfectly. For the price the plastic parts should line up perfectly. Received the 3 layer cage set with a side strut missing. Received the replacement part a week and half later after lots of back and forth with customer service.

These have been the best cages for us hands down. I am super impressed with the system as a whole. I have used metal cages, homemade cages and these. So any criticism I have is minor. Assembly was a breeze. We bought three systems: brooder, grow out and breeding. Each system was a three stack. We found assemble a whole unit in just under two hours. The assembly videos on the companies website are great.
- [ ] For installing the aluminum rod, we found that gripping it will channel locks with a piece of double sided tape folded into the jaws as a cushion worked the best. We stripped the paper off of the tape on the channel lock side so it would stick to the tool, but left the tape on the side towards the rod. We also used a #2 square bit instead of a Phillips. Huge improvement.
- [ ] We immediately converted our waterers to side mounted types as Terry at Coturnix Corner shows on his video https://youtu.be/EaZiyhkHuZk. We also discovered that if you did not add the last piece of drain tubing to the end of the run, I caused the waterers to overflow and leak on the lowest unit. We will be moving them to the side instead of the back for easier maintenance.
- [ ] The dropping trays…I was going to try to use these since they came with the cage, but I found too many obstacles. They are difficult to scrape do to the plastic left on the surface where they were injection molded. I spent quite a bit of time smoothing those down so I could quit cussing them. They are too short for the breeding cages. They truly do need to extend to underneath the egg roll out tray. Don’t let them go long between cleaning-they get heavy! I wish they were in three sections for that reason alone.
- [ ] I modified the front to suit my needs. I purchased the feed trays that are two sections long. I removed the door over the third section and installed permanent sand baths. The eggs still roll out under the sand bath and are easily collected.

After building my own breeding cage, I didn't realize my design would be such a pain to clean! After reviewing several different cage systems I decided to give hatching time a shot, and I am so thankful I did! Watering system is fantastic, feed loss is almost nonexistent, and an absolute dream to keep CLEAN! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND whether it be a hobbiest or homesteaders. I since have purchased the grow out editions and getting ready to give the brooder a go. Its looking like hatching time is going to be my go to from here on out!

We put our order in and 3 days later it showed up. Very impressed with the shipping. The paper instructions were about useless but the video instructions from the company's YouTube channel made it a breeze to understand. We only ran into on problem with it and that was getting some of the pieces to fit flush, but with a little work we got it all together. Absolutely love this 3 layer. We will definitely be buying more and would definitely recommend.

Every water nipple leaks just spent 2 k with yall not acceptable

This is my second quail cage. It is easier to clean than the metal cages. It was easy to put together. The watering system is great. There is less food waste with the trough and cover.

As we have grown so has our need for cages. These are great cages that make egg collection and bird care easy. The addition of the removeable walls is one of our favorite features. This saves us time with daily care, we save feed, they are easy to clean and sanitize and those removeable walls are a game changer. Our birds are happy and so are we.
