Quail Cage - 4 Layer

This is a a fantastic piece to make quail keeping easier!

Once all put together and sorted out it really creates a massive difference in keeping quails making the whole process of cleaning, automatic watering, comfortable housing and easy feeding a breeze.

It’s extremely efficient and has helpful additions like removable inner walls for things like separating aggressive males or keeping apart different colour varieties, along with the drain pipe for the water system that makes cleaning simple for anyone. Can’t be more obvious pleased with the product.

Customer service was also amazing when we had problems in the construction, they helped us extremely quickly getting to us within an hour and even offered video call help while building our 4 layer.

It was tiresome putting it together but really simple to line up arrows to snap together!

This whole process was frustrating.

The assembly was a mess a mess, all the the pegs on the flooring will not go into their holes even though they are lined up.

And my hands and fingers hurt and have been sore for 2 days after trying to put this together. 😩

Reached out to customer service twice, an associate even mentioned that i possibly have a defective unit, but no replacement was offered or no real solutions given, I feel like I was only given moral support and was sent on my way to struggle with this. It took me two days to assemble this before I just gave up and slapped it together thr best way that I could.

I've texted customer support numerous photos, more than 10 photos, emails, I've called last week, this week, left messages, emails and have heard nothing back about what to do.

I have gaps in all of my rows and I do not trust that this will last and hold up. (I've attached photos)

I've seen pictures and videos of other customers quail cages fully Assembled and almost all of them do not have these gaps, I have seen some and others that have complained about the same issue.

The concept and the design would be great for us, if only it fit properly, but there is a flaw with the unit I have. I should also add, that there was some dirt on some of the pieces as well as pine shavings in the original package, which one might suggest this might have been a return?

My husband is a carpenter, he even tried using ratchet straps to get the holes to snap in, and they wouldn't.
This compromises the entire structure (i was actually told that this should be fine, but for what i had to pay, I would like a stable/sound unit) I do not want to have to be purchasing replacement parts in a year or sooner due to having being sold a defective unit.

I also have a 9.5 brooder, and I didn't have any issues getting that together, that assembly was a piece of pie! and I love it!, but this assembly was ridiculous.

I did not want to have to leave a review, i wanted to give the company time to make it right, but I had not heard anything back from anyone over a week now.

I absolutely LOVE this cage and the design. It hits all the marks, roll out egg tray, feed from the front, water system to each level, removable walls inside, slide out manure trays, plastic structure so it won’t rust, decay, rot, get mites and is easily cleaned… I can roll it out and spray it down!! Best cage setup I found and I’m glad I did!!!

The jumbo sized flooring makes all the difference. Was missing a part customer service shipped it promptly

We love this 4-tier tower. The optional jumbo floors on the website are convenient. We use the removable dividers often. Highly recommend this layer cage setup.

I was so excited to find this easy maintenance cage. We just made the decision to raise quail a few weeks ago. Make sure to watch the assembly video it'll save you a lot of frustration. It took 3 of us about 3 hours to put together the 4 layer cage, it went easy once we got through the 1st layer and realized the arrows on the back of the boxed need to be lined up right or the whole thing won't fit together properly. Oh and dont skip reallyvheating the drip cups before placing them....they will break lol. We finally have our quail set up in their cages and it's so nice to have the automatic waterer, large amt of feed and the trays that collect the ****. It'll make it so easy if we want to get away for a couple days when I don't have to worry about daily care. We love it and so do our birds. It's pricey but worth every penny for the convenience!

This has been a great rack. I waited to leave a review till I have been using it over a year. It has held up (mostly), and has saved a ton of time on quail chores. Had a few times where the waterers stopped working - but a quick fix (just go through and depress each of the sippers till you get water flow). I don’t know if this is due to the amount of dust quail produce? I’ve also had a few quail develop leg issues - wondering if this is due to the slope of the floor? Also, from rolling the rack out to sweep underneath once a week, one of the castors completely broke off, and a second is working on it. Disappointed this happened since I love this rack. I am going to build a sturdier base for this rack. Overall, I still recommend and would probably buy again.

Product does take a few hours to assemble, not really of difficulty but more repetitive building. The time was worth it. It is just as described. I have anywhere from 2 to 6 birds in 1 cage. The **** trays are easy to remove and clean, but recommend getting an extra replacment tray while you clean one. Feeding is super easy, less mess and waste. Lasts a few days as does the water supply... need to bleed the air though each water nozzle tho. The Hatching time system works really well for us and we are happy with it. Will buy another and do recommend.

I will start by saying I do love the cage, it’s good quality and should last for many years. On the down side the plastic is VERY stiff and was extremely hard to snap the pieces into place. Also the bottom and top pieces are a more rigid plastic and has Razor sharp edges that I sliced my finger nearly to the BONE on, so be careful! The written instructions are horrible! I would have given this cage a 5 star review but the plastic is just too sharp! Shipping was super fast I was very pleased with that!

This quail cage works just as we'd hoped for our coturnix. After using it through two weeks of laying, and after culling most of the roosters, we find that the sections can comfortably fit 5 hens and 1 rooster. 6/cage section = 18/layer = 72 grown coturnix per 4 layer cage. The eggs roll out cleanly and reliably, the watering system is great (they figured it out right away - I was worried), and the trays make cleaning it a snap. My only complaint would be that the feeding trays are a little warped, and we broke one clip getting them in, and the manure trays could stand to extend a litte further to keep **** out of the food troughs. We cover them up at night to keep them quiet, and the tarps serve a dual purpose of containing stray manure coming from the sides. Works just as we'd hoped. Tip: sprinkle some wood shavings on the manure tray, and everything comes off clean.

Great assembly. Convenient and easy to use. Convenient way to pick eggs without disturbing birds. Easy to clean waste with trays. Water system may require adjustment for continuous use.

Ordere 4 layer growing pen supposedly in stock never recieved as of yet

Was a great product over all love it will be ordering another soon

Only problem i had was 2 of the rails leaked and one was turned wrong for the hose had to fix leaks and correct the spouts. But was easy fix and love it so far

I love my breeder pen. The instructions were a little eh, but take your time and figure out how the pieces work and it will make sense. There’s no other place I’d rather get my supplies from. I won the video contest and this is what I spent my gift card on and I would NOT do it again. I’d get the 5 layer instead of the 4 layer. Thank you Hatching Time!

One problem is the instruction sheet. If you don't have internet to watch how to assemble these cages, you are in trouble. The written instruction are not clear how to assemble these pens.
When you stack them, you can't separate them very easily due to the water line. Needs some kind of disconnect.
The bottom pen is to close to the floor. You have to sit on the floor to see into it.
The feed pans bow up in the middle making opening the doors hard to do.

Bought a 4 tier for jumbo quail earlier this year. Since then, the water line has been pecked thru several times. Now in the summer heat the plastic component became weak and I found my quail cage fell over due to the plastic component weaking. Now I have to rebuild the system using wood.
