Great design

Got this for my ducks, came yesterday and I put it together last night. The tank is made of some pretty heavy duty material (like a sand filter tank for a pool). And the other materials seem high quality as well. I’ll admit that I didn’t read the instructions at all and had a little trouble getting the water tray to snap in. Then I realized there were actually two trays, and I was trying to shove them both in at the same time. Has a quarter turn ball valve on the bottom so you can shut the water off to swap trays, refill the tank, and clean; and the whole top comes off at the green clips so you can do a deep clean every now and then. The tray is the perfect height for my ducks. For the price it is 300% better than 100% of the waterers at tractor supply, so I’m 30,000% satisfied.

Design Flaw

This waterer does not have a float so you will have to go outside many times a day to make sure the water tray is filled. I feel like I wasted my money and am now going to return this. My cheap 5 gallon bucket with waterer cups attached is better. If it had a float to keep allowing the tray to be filled when empty, it would be worth the money. I have 30+ chickens and not going outside once an hour to make sure they have water all day. What a stupid design.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the design didn’t meet your needs. The Optimus drinker operates based on a vacuum mechanism. Normally, the water tray will fill up to the bottom of the value outlet or tube. If air enters the tank, the drinking bowl will slowly empty.
Possible Issues:
Issue: Water keeps running (air enters the tank through the sealing rings.
The lid is not properly closed.
The lid is missing the pink sealing ring or the ring is damaged.
The large sealing ring is missing or damaged.
The green clips are not securely fastened or are damaged.
The value is not tightened properly.
