Quail Semi-Pro Kit

This system is just okay. Everything about it is cheap! The only thing worth having is the actual cages but the wheels that they roll on is cheap and they get stuck so they act herkey jerky which is terrible when you just refilled the water and you need to move the system you're guaranteed to spill water everywhere because the wheels are so Herky jerky.

The chick brooder waterers are cheap because they don't lock in. You'll spill more water trying to close them then you would filling them up because the teeth don't catch correctly.

The heater on the unit is great and the brooder itself is decent

The cages are decent and is really the only good thing about the unit. The watering system leaks. I have to replace nipples often as well as in the brooder the watering system leaks and overflows. The brooder drinking system is not secure and will often turn on its side at an angle allowing water to spill as opposed to staying in horizontal place. It needs another hook or something for the tube to rest on in different positions.

Overall it's a good starter system but the wheels will absolutely frustrate you if you have a unit that you need to pull in and out after refilling the water system. The water tub lid at the top is not secure so the lid is basically useless and more of a dust cap because water will spill. The watering system leaks which is also very frustrating. The sides of the unit where the manure trays go, should be covered because waste will spill all over the floors. The waste trays should basically be enclosed to avoid spillage of waste but they aren't.

Quail eggs do get stuck on the floors but that's not really a big deal to me

It's a decent buy but be prepared to upgrade literally everything you get with the exception of the actual cages themselves.

Jumbo flooring should be an option that you can choose when ordering. You shouldn't have to wait till you get the whole kit, put it together and then realize that the flooring doesn't accommodate jumbo bc u have waste build up.

It would just make for a better customer experience. Jumbos are so common, I don't understand why that wouldn't be a selection when ordering, without having to make any special requests.

Had I known I would need to switch out the flooring for my birds, that would have made my experience much better. But after I get my birds and I set everything up, after the fact, I find out that's the flooring isn't ideal.

The spill trays should fan out on the sides so that way they can catch all of the waste, because waste spills out on the sides and you will need to create some sort of covering so the waist doesn't spill out on the floor or the walls.

One of the hoses in my brooder, was leaking water, so I had to use some plumbers tape to stop the leak. I'm glad I tested it before.I put birds in it.

It was easy to put together, and the instructions were straightforward.
Overall, I do like the setup I would recommend. I just wish I'd that the flooring would be too small because that made it a real bummer. For me, because now I'm going to have to order new floors, which means I'm going to have to put my bird somewhere. Well, they take the entire thing apart to replace them. I would have got the proper flooring from the start. Had I known that would be needed?So they should have asked when ordering.Is it for standard quail or jumbo.

Aside from having to cover the sides to keep manure from splattering and the flooring not large enough to keep clean, everything else is pretty good. But the flooring really drives me crazy Because that increases clean up frequency and the cleanliness of your birds.

Very nice kit for someone wanting to get everything at once

Excellent product. Assembly is easy - information on the enclosed leaflet is sufficient, I didn't have to watch youtube videos etc, and therefore don't understand some comments about the assembly issues. Well, some folks are challenged putting together IKEA cabinets :)
My special thanks to support team - who are very supportive and reply instantly: I had a minor incubator issue which was addressed swiftly.
Hatch rate was very good: 65% on the eggs which were 5 days in transit, shipped in Canada with negative temperatures outside.
The only complain....shipment to Canada is very expensive- open location here pls :)

I purchased the Semi-Pro kit as I wanted to get the incubator, brooder and cages all at once and the price was great. Minor issue during ordering, resolved with one email, so fantastic customer service. Assembly was a bit painful on the fingers until I just started using the rubber mallet to help snap the pieces in together (top/bottom/front/back), I must have not so tough fingers but trying to get those to snap together was really starting to hurt, but if you brace them and tap them with a mallet they go right together. Had some issues with the watering nipples leaking, one email and customer service sent out replacements yet again without an issue. Quail are having no issue with the cages and are eating/drinking without a problem. I was a bit concerned with plastic in that many times there are areas where the plastic didn't inject right, or excessive flashing that needs to be cleaned, but all of these were pretty nice and clean without issues. The main drawbacks for me: the height of the bottom and top (Semi Pro is 3 layers of roll out, 2 layers of brooder/growout depending on the doors you are using), I am not short but the top one is higher then comfortable for me to reach into the back, and the bottom one is way to low to the ground to get into easily. Tray does not extend out to include the egg roll out so if quail go right next to the door it can roll down and fall into the feeder below, I took some abs sheets and cut a deflector and connected it to the front of the grow out to let manure roll back into the tray, ideally the trays would be several inches wider to protect the lower feeders from falling manure. Back and sides quail like to go near it and manure will fall out the sides, once again made some abs deflectors that direct it back into the tray. Tip for those of you putting the rods in to support the cage, use locking plyers, trying to hold them while tightening them down is about impossible in the brooder (or assemble this with a friend). Overall nice kit, haven't used the incubator yet but have eggs coming next month to hatch!

Overall My wife and I love this system! The assembly is difficult and the paper instructions are misleading, however once you put it together its great. The watering system leaks, (alot). Once I ordered new poultry nipples and replaced them the system works great. I highly recommend this product still and could not be happier. The Incubator is wonderful! Thank you!

Seemed like a simple setup to get up and going with our first Quail. We have not been happy with this yet. Difficult to put together with warped plastic, pieces break easily when using a mallet, and the watering system is a nightmare. We were missing several pieces of the watering system, Customer Service was at first round was very helpful. Second round with Customer Service I never received a reply, just some parts eventually sent that I never asked for and pointed out I already had to buy separately while I waited for some kind of response. Waterers do NOT work. They stick open and drain the entire water system constantly.
Not happy and would not recommend.

We were able to assemble everything so easily! We had one small defect that was fixed promptly when we reached out to the guys over at hatching time. Very impressed so far. We will be ordering again for sure!
