Frequently Asked Questions

How many chickens does this large transport coop hold?

faThe coop is designed to hold 12 to 16 chickens. The actual number will depend on the size and breed of your birds.

What are the dimensions and weight of this transport coop?

The coop measures 38 inches in length, 22.5 inches in width, and 10.6 inches in height, and weighs 18.5 lb. Make sure your vehicle or transport setup can accommodate these dimensions before purchasing.

How does the sliding top door work?

What is the difference between this coop and the two-door version?

Glad I went with these!

This will be my first time processing birds. I looked all over for reviews of different transport cages and there are really not that many. I came across one review of these and decided to go with them. The review I watched made mention of how hard they are to put together and that you needed a hammer. I disagree! I put together 7 of these in less than 30 minutes and with no tools. Very easy to put together. I may have to do a video review of these and the assembly to show just how easy it is!

Thank you for the review. Less than 5 minutes to put together! Best of luck with your flock - The Hatching Time Team

If you stack a transport coop on to another do they lock in place?

Hatching Time

Yes, more or less. There's an lip on the bottom that fits inside the top when stacked so it won't slip off.

M
Mike

Do all your transport cages have solid bottoms or do I need to purchase a tray to go under them for droppings?

Hatching Time

They do not have solid bottoms
