Do you dream of raising healthy happy quail? We put together this starter kit to help people like yourself who want to have a sanitary and clean setup for incubation, brooding, and breeding!
Ā
Getting Started:Ā
Step 1: Incubating (Before hatch)
- Set / hatch up to 216 quail eggs per batch. The incubator includes (4) egg turners and (4) hatch baskets for an all-in-one design.
Step 2: Brooding (First 4 weeks of life)
- For the first 4 weeks, the brooder supplies the necessary heat. Each layer comes with starter feeders and starter drinkers.
Step 3: Growing (Weeks 4-6 of life)
- Let you quail feather out in our grow out pens. TIP: You can remove the space heaters from each brooding layer to convert the layers to "grow out pens".
Step 4: Breeding (After 6 weeks of life)
- After week 6, move your quail to the breeding cages for easy egg collection and manure removal.Ā
Disclaimer: The numbers above are estimates and vary by breed and room temperatures. Warmer conditions require less supplemental heat from the brooders and could allow the birds to be moved along to the grow out pens and quail cages sooner.Ā Ā

I started with a mixed tower and really liked these and the customer service. We quickly outgrew it and ordered this package. Some pieces were broken from shipping (boxes with huge holes from being carelessly handled), HT sent me replacements quickly. I pressure wash ours 2x a year and they look new. Love the incubator! I keep thermometer/ hygrometers in it at different levels and it's been accurate and consistent throughout. Don't have to fight humidity.
Only issue I have is with the water bar in the brooder and growout cages. There are some spots that need some trimming to keep the floats from getting stuck. Once the growouts get big enough, they jump up and stand in/on the cups. These causes them to overflow. Otherwise, I've been very happy and looking to order more and a hatcher.
Thank you for the review and for working with us to replace those items that were damaged during shipping. - The Hatching Time Team
So far the kit seems excellent. Everything is assembled and awaiting birds!! A few small items were missing for the assemble, and the customer service was top notch to get me the missing parts. I did upgrade to the larger incubator. Currently have 233 jumbo quail eggs waiting to hatch. Temperature and humidity have been steady. Seems great so far, I'll know more in a couple weeks when they start hatching.
Thank you for the review, Philip. Best of luck with your flock - The Hatching Time Team
best little tool for opening quail eggs!
We bought this equipment for our farm. I have to say it was a great investment. Our chick, ducklings and our keets look great. We have been getting more clean hatches than we have ever had.
Thank you
We expanded our quail business and these are fantastic. I love the new door handles. Highly recommend.
We are expanding our quail hobby farm and these brooders are fantastic. Keeps warm for the babies and I like the front feeder.
We raise a variety of poultry and they seem to get out of other popular stack brooders. The solution then is to put food and water inside but the mat defeats the purpose. With this brooder, the white grate over the food keeps my chicks in and the mess to a minimum. We brood Guinea keets, silver pheasants, English orphans, and turkey poults with this brooder.
We raise a variety of poultry and I was looking for something to brood turkey poults. They get tall quick and other popular stack brooders are just too short. The 15ā brooder does the trick. I raise the waterer so they donāt perch and make it leak and the rest is history. We love this brooder.
Iām continuing to hatch geese and turkeys and now peachicks! I came back and ordered 8 more because these work great!
Perfectly fits on top of brooder. Helps lessen daily chores of filling water!
We purchased these to have on hand for replacement when needed. Very happy with the quality, ease of ordering, and shipping time. Thank you!
I've had this cage in place with quail in it for a few weeks now. The feeder is great. Had issues with the quail not understanding the "push up" nipples so I ordered the 360 degree nipples from HT and they IMMEDIATELY used them. I put a piece of PVC material (actually shower backing) on the back side of the cage to keep things contained a bit more. Took out all of the divider walls. I currently have a total of 15 quail per tier and feel that is the right number. They're still in there "tight" but not PACKED tight. I am wondering what people are doing about cleaning the cage. They've only been in for a few weeks and the **** is accummulating on the flooring...not so much where they walk but the underside above the **** tray. Would love to know if there is a way to clean it while they are still IN the cage....otherwise, where does someone put 60 birds while the entire cage is pressure washed? It stresses the birds out when they're moved which means they stop laying for a few days. I would also DEFINITELY invest in a few extra trays....prep one, remove the dirty one and quickly insert the prepped one. I line mine with newspaper and then a bit of sawdust to help dry the **** and then 3-4 quick sprays of pine-sol which flies HATE (plus it smells good). Repeat daily.
Iām so happy that it got here so fast and with everything ! Nothing was damaged itās holding temp and humidity beautifully! I canāt wait to see what it hatches !
Fast shipping and packaging was very well done will be incubating quail eggs with this new product
I bought the 4 tier quail cage which came with water rods with nipples. However, the style that was included with the cage were "push UP only" and from one direction (directly underneath). I tried for FOUR days to get my quail to drink from them and it just wasn't working at all! They would peck at it from all angles EXCEPT directy underneat and got zero water. I knew they weren't getting any because there wasn't the standard drinking motion AND more than a 5-6 times a day I would go out and show them how to work it and they all ran to the water when I released it (if only 1-2 came then obviously the others weren't thrist but to have ALL of them run to get water meant NONE of them were getting water). Finally broke down and ordered these. You can push from left, right, back, front or underneat and it releases water. The minute they were installed all of my quail were successfully drinking from them and visually obtaining water. I have no idea why these don't come standard with the cages. (Hatching time suggestion.....add these as "standard" with the water rods) No learning curve needed.
We love this 4-tier tower. The optional jumbo floors on the website are convenient. We use the removable dividers often. Highly recommend this layer cage setup.
