This model (GL25 / 9.5") is best suited for smaller game birds, such as quail, partridge and pheasants as they grow out. For larger breeds like chickens, we recommend using our larger pens (GL40 / 15").

Are these types of cages similar to brooders?

Yes, they are! However, they are meant for juvenile birds and do not come with a heat source. This design can be beneficial to help separate young and manure birds as well as free up space in your brooder for incoming chicks!
